Audio Video Designs was founded by Charles and Caroline Speedy in 1994. Charles was a Hi-Fi enthusiast and Caroline’s father was a practicing electrician. The idea of supplying fun, discrete music and video systems for client’s homes seemed like an exciting opportunity!

Business grew quickly at this time and Charles and Caroline decided the best way forward was to import specialist products, largely sourced from the USA, that included In-wall/in-ceiling speakers, IR multi-room audio and video distribution.

In 1999, AVD began distributing Lutron Lighting controls and this business has continued to develop and grow.  To complement the Lighting Control business, Lutron Sivoia Window Shades were added to the offering in 2006.
